Penelope Bridgerton (née Featherington) is Colin's wife and Eloise's childhood friend. She eventually marries Colin, and has four children with him. The third season of Bridgerton, the Netflix series, is based on her love story with Colin.

Physical appearance[]
Penelope, unlike societal standards of the Regency Era, is a short, curvy woman standing at approximately 5"0. She inherited her mother's red hair along with her two sisters. In the books, she is described as having auburn hair, a fair "peaches and cream" complexion, and light brown eyes with a green ring around the pupils. She has full lips and she is prone to freckling. Penelope is forced into her mother's ideal wardrobe, mainly bright garish yellow and orange dresses. Her hair is often in tight, pulled up curls with many embellishments. Penelope, through Whistledown, often equates herself (and her sisters) to citrus fruits. After becoming a spinster, she wears pinks, greens, and blues even though her mother disapproves.
