Edward Rokesby is the husband of Cecilia Harcourt.
Biography[]
Edward George Rokesby is the second child of Lord Manston and Lady Helen Manston. He is 5 years younger than George Rokesby. Mary Rokesby is one year younger, and he is two years older than Andrew Rokesby. His godmother is Margaret Tryon, whose husband was serving as the Royal Governor of New York during the Revolutionary War.
He attended Eton and then enlisted in the Army. Part of his training was at Hampton Court Palace, where he was assigned to share a 2 bunk apartment, which he was assigned to share with Thomas Harcourt. He was a Lieutenant, then made Captain at the same time as Thomas Harcourt. They served in His Majesty's 54th Regiment of the Foot. He served bravely and distinguished himself in the Battle of Quaker Hill. His service lead him to be in Rhode Island, New York Town, and Connecticut.
It is mentioned that Edward has a "brood" of children[1], however they are not named in the books.
Personality[]
Described as a "perfect gentleman" who made sure a lady was taken care of. When in doubt, he always tries to do the "right" thing.
Physical appearance[]
Edward is described as an incredibly handsome man with dark brown hair and stunning sapphire-blue eyes framed by thick, dark eyelashes capable of paralyzing an unsuspecting young lady just by looking at them. He is tall and strong, standing over six feet tall with broad, strong shoulders. He has a scar on his back from childhood. Edward has large, square hands and tanned, work-worn skin. He has a reddish beard.

Edward started to harbor feelings for Thomas Harcourt's sister, Cecilia, during their correspondence. He hoped that Thomas did not suspect.
Family[]
Because of large age gaps, Edward was not close with his elder brother George or youngest brother Nicholas. However, he was close to his sister, Mary, and younger brother Andrew.
Friends[]
Thomas Harcourt was his closest friend in the Army. They met in training and were bunked together. During their service, they were both promoted to Captain at the same time. Through Thomas, Edward began a correspondence with his sister, Cecilia Harcourt. He brought Thomas home with him during the holidays and introduced him to Governor Tryon while they were stationed in New York Town.
As a child, Edward, Mary, and Andrew Rokesby had a close friendship with Billie Bridgerton. They were about the same age and "ran wild" together. In their adventures, Edward dislocated a shoulder. Billie considers him her best friend.
