Colin was born at Aubrey Hall in Kent, England as the third son of eight children. He grew up closest with his elder brothers, Anthony and Benedict. During his teenage years, after his father's death and Hyacinth's birth, he moved back to London with his mother and seven siblings. He went on to attend Eton College just like his brothers.
Later life[]
At the age of 33, he married his Penelope Featherington, his and his younger sister, Eloise's, oldest friend. They went on to have four children together, Agatha, Thomas, Jane, and George.
