Cecilia Anne Rokesby (née Harcourt) is the female protagonist from The Girl with the Make-Believe Husband. She is the love interest of Edward Rokesby.
Biography[]
Cecilia is the daughter of Walter Harcourt and Anne Harcourt. Anne died soon after Cecilia's birth. Cecilia's older brother is Thomas Harcourt, who she had a very close friendship. They grew up in the village of Matlock Bath, Derbyshire, and lived in Marswell House.
Cecilia served as housekeeper to her father and ran Marswell House.
Cecilia frequently wrote her brother Thomas while he was away in the Army. They maintained a close correspondence, which made Thomas' friends jealous (especially Edward Rokesby). Through this correspondence, Cecilia began to know Edward and write segments to him.

Cecilia has seafoam green eyes and dark blond hair. She is told that she resembles her mother.
